"From here and there" by Rev. Eugenio "Gene" R. Filio III

"...when I go to the highest peak,
even on the heights of a surging Tsunami,
Lord, you are there.
...when I go to the deepest depth,
into the heart of Mars and the interior of Venus,
Lord, you are there.
...when I go to the most crowded places,
from one refugee camp to another.
Lord, you are there.
...when I go to the most solitary place,
and deserted streets of New Orleans.
Lord, you are there.
...when my eyes looks up to heaven
and see the vastness of the universe,
how it is expanding and rapidly extending,
Lord, you are there.
...when my eyes looks sideways,
from the rising of the sun and to its setting down,
Lord, you are there.
...when my eyes search deep inside my thoughts,
from Aristotle to Spinoza, from Darwin to Flew.
Lord, you are there.
...when my eyes search within my feelings,
the pounding of my heart and butterflies in my stomach,
Lord, you are there.
...when my ears listens to the stillness of silence,
no sound, no cry, no dirge,
Lord, you are there.
...when my ears hear the rumbling sound of thunder,
bombs blowing up,
crackling sounds of automatic rifles,
nuclear threat from the north to the middle east,
Lord, you are there.
Yes, Lord, even now I see.
Yes, Lord, even now I hear.
My spirit is at rest.
I can sleep silently in the night.
At the end, I just want to see your face.
Your Name to always praise.
From time past,
To time that never ends.
A little more steps away,
You are here.
